Are you programming an arts festival, or planning children’s arts workshops? Hire me and I’ll create joyful, creative, engaging musical moments! Here are some of the workshops and performances I do regularly that you could add to your program :

CIORCAL CEOIL

Join Ríona Sally Hartman’s Ciorcal Ceoil - a bilingual family workshop filled with songs, stories, rírá agus ruaille buaille in English and Irish!

There’s something for everyone in the family in this informal, interactive and engaging workshop — sing along, learn a fun clapping game in Irish, and soak up the ceol, craic agus damhsa!

No Irish? No problem! All songs and activities are explained in an accessible, fun way so everyone can join in, follow along and learn a cúpla focal along the way.

We’re Going on a Song Hunt!

Join Ríona Sally Hartman on a song hunt to create music from everyday objects, our voices and our imaginations!

Together we will explore the sounds we can make from all sorts of things, from crinkly dry leaves to feet stomping. We’ll record the sounds using a simple loop pedal, listening closely along the way for clues as to where the music will guide us to next.

Next, we'll add our voices. Singing, speaking, humming, whispering... Who knows what kind of songs or soundscapes will emerge from our intrepid, curious, auditory explorations?

Song Explorer

Are you programming cultural events to celebrate Ireland hosting the Presidency of the Council of the European Union?

Song Explorer is a workshop (or performance depending on the setting) where children and their grown ups can learn and enjoy songs in lots of different European languages together in a fun, accessible way.

A Hungarian song about poling down a river, a German song about bees, and simple fun songs in Irish too. Songs are presented in an accessible, engaging way with accompanying actions meaning everyone can join in.

The Úlla Búlla Band Live!

Ríona Sally Hartman brings her hit children’s album Úlla Búlla to life with a live five piece jazz band! These songs are designed to introduce children—and their grown-ups—to the magic of improvisation, the world of jazz, Gaeilge and the art of creative songwriting. A lively, fun, interactive concert where the audience participates in the music.

Please note that although I do work in schools I am very rarely hired directly by schools. In these instances I am usually hired by an outside organisation such as an arts centre or a local council. This is because the amount of administration, scheduling and preparation involved in doing a once off school visit makes it unfeasible without charging very high fees. If you’d like to discuss something specific please get in touch, but it’s worth keeping in mind that once off school visits are rare.
