The Ríona Sally Hartman Band

The Ríona Sally Hartman Band is my one true musical love! This is the band where I get the privilege of having some absolutely astonishing musicians play and sing my songs. Most of what you see and hear on this website is from this band including the album Big Starving Thing and the Sealegs EP.

I'm currently working on the next album, it's on it's way.

Dublin City Council's Musician in Residence

Picture
I am delighted to be Dublin City's Council first ever Musician in Residence. The residency is an innovative programme aimed at teen and adult audiences, and will feature a variety of events from ukulele taster sessions and lyric writing workshops to digital composition and production workshops.

The residency will involve Ríona composing and performing new site specific music inspired by stories that library users will share with her about places that are important to them in Dublin.

IMLÉ

Picture
IMLÉ are an unconventional band with a unique sound, based around vocalists with very diverse musical backgrounds...and they're kind enough to invite me to sing and play with them sometimes.

Ná fiafriagh dom cad is brí le IMLÉ...níl clú agam...ní dóigh liom fiú go bhfuil fhios acu fhéin.

Dig A Little Deeper

Dig A Little Deeper is a project led by guitarist and songwriter Mick Stuart. The debut album 'Songs From The Small Hours' has combined eleven original songs with some of the brightest talent emerging from Ireland's jazz community.

At the heart of the band is a desire to craft songs, across any genre; jazz, pop, blues, that connect to the listener. The songs have been approached with openness and versatility from band members Ríona Sally Hartman (vocals), Mick Stuart (guitar), Johnny Taylor (piano), Dan Callaghan (double bass) and Tommy Gray (drums).

Yo tEACH!

Picture
I teach piano, music theory, singing and song writing to children and teenagers.

My teaching philosophy consists of two simple principles: 1. Lessons can and should be fun for both the student and teacher 2. I work with each student to create a unique and varied curriculum that best suits their own abilities, interest and goals.

I'll be posting resources, information and opinion pieces on teaching on my blog under the category 'Yo Teach!'

I currently don't have any availability to take on students but if you are interested you can join the mailing list to find out when I do.
